New aspirant member organisations

Good news! Two new Aspirant Member Organisation! One of the goals of European Bike Guides is to get as many European organisations who represent certified Instructor - Guides on board, this way we can strengthen our network and make our profession better! We are very happy to say;
- two new Aspirant Members; the Bike Academy Belgium (https://bikeacademybelgium.be) and SOMIG, Swedish Organisation of Mountain bike Instructors and Guides (website and logo in progress!)
- the Bike Academy Belgium has started their Train-the-Trainer process and SOMIG will start in August

More news;
- One of our Tutors went to Austria to follow up on the Benchmark process for Bike Guide Austria (https://www.bikeguideaustria.at) and did a small re-training for their Tutors about teaching styles
- This years central Exam in La Bresse has the potential for being the biggest so far in our 10 years history! Most likely we have around 20 participants! Full and partial Exams
- The Romanian Institute for Mountain Bike Skills (https://institutmtb.org) has completed their Train-the-trainer process and became Full Member, welcome!!

Exams 2024 – Done

What a rush! Three very intense days in La Bresse! 15 Exam candidates, 9 assessors, 20 Live Clients, from 8 different countries, 73 single Exams completed, 50 are passed... yes... indeed, it is not a bike ride in the park!

It takes effort, commitment, stamina and total dedication to complete the Exams; Low Speed, Higher Speed, Navigation, Emergency, Trailside repair, Skills instruction and Guiding. The program and evaluation is run by Instructor - Guides for Instructor - Guides! If the candidate proofs (checks the boxes of the EU MTB Instructor - Guide Standard) that he/she meets the level we (fellow Instructor - Guides) all agreed on, he/she will be given the EO-MTBing certification!

It is to make us better in our profession, to make it safer and an adventure on a high level. It is a job, not a hobby!! Exams 2024 Update

Wow! Next week (Wednesday the 16th till Saturday the 19th of October) we will have 16 candidates from 4 different countries giving it a shot to obtain their European Instructor - Guide certification. The event will take place on the terrific and techy trails around La Bresse, France. A very interesting fact is that there will be around 20 "live clients" who will act as a target group, the candidates will learn these "live clients" new skills or retrain existing riding Skills and will be guided on a day long tour. All of those "live clients" are coming all the way from the Netherlands to see and help the Dutch Exam candidates through their exam!

The candidates will also need to show their "hard skills", like Higher speed, Low speed, Navigation, Trailside repair and First Aid.

In total we have around 45 people from 8 different countries, candidates, live clients and exam assessors! They do not only come for the Exam, they also come to strengthen their network, making new connections with professional colleagues and last, but not the least, shredding the amazing techy trails around La Bresse together!
